Just recently refocused on some copper I had gathering dust in my shop- how could I have missed this treasure trove before? Just adore the buttery yumminess I’ve been seeing once these pieces are polished and had patina applied…working on a couple more neck pieces with different chain/cord attachments-more in my next post. So much copper, so little time…

A little dingle and lottsa dangle…
So much happening in the workshop this past month-where to begin?? Let’s start with a few earrings that all have a story:
These ear drops were inspired by a “free” 2″ piece of half round textured brass from one of my wonderful suppliers, SupplyDiva in Mexico. I’ve had these fabulous green glass lampwork beads sitting in my bead stash for about 2 years. Just shows what a few hours of free time can produce–the beads actually spin on their little base…love these.
I bought these incredible hand crafted lampwork beads from a very talented lady on Vancouver Island at Island Rain Studio over 3 years ago…they have been patiently waiting for me to design something to really showcase their gorgeous hues and pattern…think I got it! The soft greens are enhanced with the sterling silver wire ear hook and wire wraps, and the medallion at the bottom is free-formed silver stamped with one of my favourite designs, a little swirl-I call it my “whirly -gig “…
And I’ve also been having a blast with cages- of sorts. There isn’t much I can’t wrap into one of these little neck pieces-this one happened to feature sea shells, sea glass and old keys….my kind of wonderful…
Come back soon, lots more goodies to share in the coming weeks! Please visit my Etsy Store if you are interested in purchasing any of these or other pieces and thanks so much for stopping by!
Copper Crazed
I mentioned yesterday I was playing with some heat patinas…well, here is the first completed set of earrings using that method. The copper was torched to produce the vibrant colours, then sealed. Once cut and shaped, I added 2 brass lily components, which are wrapped around some gorgeous bronze-coloured fresh water pearls…entire length of the drop is about 1 3/4 “…more…. or less exactly, actually…..
These will be available on Etsy for purchase in my shop later tomorrow. And maybe a few more to go with them–Easter is only a few days away-how did that happen?…so fast….
Long n’Lean
Autumn Leaves
One of three copper leaf sets I’ve just finished, this one has gorgeous pale orange Swarovski crystals (Austrian producer of luxury cut lead glass crystals)nestled in the middle of the leaf form. The leaves are hand-formed copper, hammered to texture, antiqued and finished with hand-formed sterling silver ear wires.
These are now available in my Etsy store, thanks for stoping by!
Leafy Lovelies
Late Fall seemed a fitting time to work on these copper earrings, I love the warm colors that resulted! Lots of cutting bending, hammering and torching…and then just a bit more hammering. I added a tiny ring with some seed beads in copper and green, and sterling silver ear hooks-hope you like!
Now available for sale on my Etsy store ,thanks for stopping by!
