If cuffs are your thing and you’d like to learn how to easily create your own designer pieces, this might just be the best 6 hours you’ve ever spent!  Easily perfected methods of etching raw brass and copper, designing your personalized attachments and then putting it all together in pieces you can wear home—maybe start on that Christmas list early?  Have a peak at some prior posts to see what some of my beginner students have accomplished-you truly will amaze yourself in this very hands-on session.  Class sizes are limited to 4 so book early and bring a friend along for support-she’ll share in your new addiction  to all things metal and blingy 🙂

Three Amigas

Am just gob-smacked at what these amazing and very talented ladies accomplished in the studio today- Can  you believe one of them is just 15??  Me neither—-none of them had ever etched metal before, curved and shaped it, or ever touched a  pickle (no-not the dill pickle variety) or made chain links from scratch….they did it all, and more today!  Amazing talent, I am in awe ….wow.

Dazzeling Demis…

If arm candy makes your heart go pitter-patter, you just might want to check out this workshop.  We’re going to be making these luscious demi cuffs-from scratch.  Yup-from a bare sheet of metal through to the finished piece, you’ll be cutting and shaping metal, learning how to etch designs into your piece, get excited about patinas and then design cold connections to attach all manner of treasures!  Can’t make a demi without chains so I’ll be showing you the basics on soldering chain links too…and more patinas, and you’ll just have to be there to find out what else I have in store- contact me at www.valleymetalarts.com

Proud Teacher!!!!

I just had the most amazing group of ladies in my studio today!  They took some basic ideas and techniques and just ran with them–it was magical to just watch. The hours flew by so fast…can’t wait for them to come back-Teacher 1 Bezels (2)We twisted wire, cut sheet metal to make backings for bezels, learned how to make ear wires and closures, played with solder and resin (and watch parts), and they were such good sports about the crazy pace…and Mom made a fabulous fresh peach pie for us for lunch-it was a great day!!
