Most of the pieces I’ve created over the year have gone on to their “forever” homes, but here is a look back on some of my favourites:

These were special pieces that incorporated old family photos, treasured bits and pieces of vintage jewelry and/or components that held significance to the wearer:

Earrings have always been my fun “go to” pieces – they don’t involve a lengthy time investment so I can pop into the studio, play for an hour or two, and leave with several new pieces.  When a new rock/stone/bead shipment arrives, you’ll find me learning how those new bits and pieces respond to various  treatments and earrings are the perfect venue for that!  These new delicious pieces often lead to the inspiration for my next neck piece or cuff-

A cuff was one of the very first pieces I made when I began working with sheet metal-and I was hooked.  I’ve gone on to try a myriad of different finishing techniques and embellishments, various styles and metals but the basics haven’t changed.  A well constructed cuff will last forever.  I often see my cuffs after several years of wear- they have developed amazing patinas, acquired a few dents and are shaped to perfectly fit the wearer’s wrist, and have become one of their wardrobe staples.  When I see such a well loved piece, it makes me happy….and just encourages me to go create more.

Neck pieces area huge part of my interest in this craft-in fact it’s usually where I begin when creating a collection. It might happen when I find a particular stone or crystal that intrigues me, or a cabochon at the market place, or even revisiting an old brooch or piece of something in my stash of treasures. I love putting together all the different components and coming up with a unique, one of a kind piece that will be cherished in the years to come:
